Some quick background-
My sons is a dpole, plays club ball (spring, summer and fall), school team, pickup league and Box Lacrosse.
He wears a size X-Large, long fingers.
My son is very picky on his equipment, his privious gloves were
Maverik M4’s- Loved these gloves, M5’s didn’t fit when he out grew the M4’s
Epoch Integra Elite, wore out the thumb, fingers and web area after six months. His ECD Carbon Pro 2.0 no longer has texture so that wasn’t a factor in the the early demise of those gloves.
Warrior EVO QX, he wore out these gloves in 8 months.
I wanted to try the STX Surgeon 700.
On first try the X-Larges felt like a putting on a great pair of ski gloves. I like that there is a carbon fiber strip in the thumb. He likes that the palm area is very well ventilated. I likes the floating cuff , but the Epoch and Warrior are larger and the STX cuff doesn’t allow him to flip the hand off yet still have the around his wrist when he is on the sideline.
He has used them in one Box Lacrosse practice, one Box Lacrosse game and one indoor game. I asked him for feed back.
Most comfortable gloves, he did get slap checked in the hands in Box and said they did great. Perhaps the biggest testament to how much he like these gloves is that he didn’t complain about the cuff not being full floating( he doesn’t use the strap, too loose perhaps?)
A great glove, hopefully he will get more than 8 months out of them.
