Adequate anterior protection. Like the added chest protector under the main shield. 4 stars as I would have hoped for more posterior and upper arm coverage - similar to the regular shields. Boys 8 and 10 share this. 65 pounds 4''6' and 95 pounds 5'. May fit well up to 5''5' but beyond that I may look for something in a larger (adult) size rather than youth.
For lack of coverage it should only be used by 3rd graders or below.
