This shaft is a perfect balance of all the things you look for in a shaft. First, it's incredibly light. In fact, it's the lightest shaft I know of. By my measurement, it's 130g without the ABE (6g less than the Hyperlite 2024, which is 136g). Unlike the Hyperlite, it's strong enough for box lacrosse. I tried the Hyperlite and it cracked in the first game. The Hyperfuse is solid thus far. It has 0 flex, which provides the highest accuracy and quickest response in my experience. The shape of the shaft is perfect. The edges are just concave enough to feel them, but not overdone like on the ECD Carbon Pro 3.0 Speed or Maverick A1. I prefer this traditional shape. The surface is smooth, which is a slight drawback for me since I've preferred a textured finish. But I've found that with the Powell Rip Tape below the blue ring, I can switch hands faster than ever before. So I'm now a believer in the smooth finish. The ABE is nice because it's low profile and lightweight (11g), but it's kind of hard. I still prefer the ECD sliding end cap, which fits on this shaft perfectly and provides the best feel. With the head on, I find the balance of this shaft to be perfect. After going through a couple different shafts, this really is the shaft for me.
