shape is placed at the top of the shaft next to the head so it fits perfectly in the v between your thumb and forefinger for optimum grip and ergonomic fit and feel in your top hand. For those who prefer the familiar feel of an octagon shape, the shaft can be rotated so the octagon portion is at the top and the kanuga shape is at the bottom.
