THE MOST INNOVATIVE GOALIE GLOVES

by From GARNET VALLEY, PA
The best gloves on the market that allows for the maximum movement and protection. No bulk but enough padding. Excellent fit because of multiple sizes.
Pros:
Innovative design of the thumb guard. The elimination of the cuff. Multiple sizes to get the best fit.
Cons:
The wear of the inside of the gloves between the thumb and first finger.

Almost Perfect

by From BALTIMORE, MD
If they improved the padding on the knuckles, these would be five star gloves even with the hot palms. Unfortunately, when a goalie gets hit in the hands it's either in the thumb or on the knuckles. They took care of the thumb but the knuckles are very soft. Medium speed shots are causing significant hand damage. The gloves allow for tons of movement and take no time to break in. All around a good goalie glove.
Pros:
Pros: <br>- They come in 14"<br>- Outstanding thumb protection<br>- Short wrist cuff allows for great mobility<br>- Palm requires no break in time
Cons:
Cons:<br>- Palm is a bit warm<br>- Padding on the knuckles is lacking

Great protection, palms wear out quickly

by From SENOIA, GA
This is the second pair I purchased for my son in 8 months. The gloves wore out in between the thumb and fore finger. We really liked the short cuff and the extra thumb support. Just wish the palm material was more durable.
Pros:
Protection for the thumb and the short cuff
Cons:
Palm, for the money I would expect it to last longer. He played 3 weeks of box lax and the gloves didn't make it thru the Spring season.

Stx sheild pro goalie gloveS

by - verified purchaser From YORK,PA
Amazing glove, the size is true and very protective and great mobility!
Pros:
The gloves are very protective in the places you need it most.the thumb protector is amazing, you feel little to nothing when you get hit in the thumb, even the back of the hand is well protected. when you first get them they are a little stiff but you just have to bend all the fingers and just play with it, I just bent all the fingers forward and back and bent the thumb and used it in 1 game they were broken in, it's very fast for amazing protection and mobility.
Cons:
They palm tears a little on rough surfaces such as grip tape after time, just little fraying.

Been Using For About a Month

by - verified purchaser From WINSTON-SALEM, NC
I was wary of STX goalie gloves with the plastic reinforced thumbs, thinking the concept was more of a gimmick that restricts mobility while providing minimial, if any, noticeable improvements in thumb protection. I was told the plastic thumb STX puts on all its goalie gloves had been changed and improved for the Shied Pro goalie gloves, so I took a chance against my better judgement, and couldn't be happier with my choice after being a big fan of the Reebok goalie gloves for years.
Pros:
The lack of wrist protection is a major plus for me because I don't need it and the cumbersome wrist cuffs designed for players who see a lot of stick checks around the glove/unprotected wrist area... (I.E players that typically play out in the field,) will not be common unless you tend to venture out of your crease a lot while you play. The reinforced thumb seems very durable and extra protective based on what I've seen playing with them thus far. Mobility is surprisingly not bad considering the level of reinforcement that STX has applied to the thumb.
Cons:
A little more ventilation in the palm area would be nice, as the palm is basically 100% leather that, while soft and easy to break in, is not particularly breathable.

Awesome pair of goalie gloves

by - verified purchaser From ENDWELL, NY
Great improvements over the last model Shield gloves.
Pros:
Very lightweight, great range of motion in the thumb while offering very good protection.
Cons:
Finger protection could be better. Hard shots to the fingers sting a bit. That being said, nothing broken so I guess there is sufficient protection.
