These are good gloves for the beginning player. The padding is thick enough to protect and the palm venting helps keep your hands cool.Pros:
The break-in for the back cuff against the arm could be improved. They are still stiff after 4 weeks of practice and games.
I don't really know if these gloves are any good, as I'm ordering them for my son, who told me what size to order. That size turned out to be two sizes too small. (We'll send him to glove-sizing school. He's new to the sport, so we'll forgive him that.)Pros:
What I would like to report is this: After I revealed my ignorance to the polite, helpful staff at Sportstop over the phone, I was able to figure out the sizing (These are youth gloves. As an aside, it would be helpful if that were more clearly articulated on the item description to prevent folks who don't know anything about the glove sizing method of 10", 13", and so on.) and get the right size in the mail within a few minutes.
I appreciate that very much. I especially appreciate that the shop paid for shipping both ways. Not sure if you want that cat out of the bag, but there it is. Thanks.
The service. And the price. The data system for dealing with return labels. Easy-peasy.Cons:
See above RE: a bit more info for the Lax ignorant such as myself on sizing properly and weather or not a product is intended for youth or adults.
Good gloves, they are a little small for my son who is 15, i am going to exchange them i ordered a medium i should of got a large, but overall good protection and very good quality for the price.Pros:
Quality and protectionCons:
I only had these gloves for a couple games. I spent three months breaking them in, and they still were too stiff for my taste. The grip is really insufficient and basically requires the use of tape, or a really good grip shaft. The cuff doesn't cover much of the wrist at all, so it leaves you vulnerable to slashes. Overall, you can do better for the money. Try Warrior Wraths.Pros:
Great Colorways, cheapCons:
Not very mobile, not great grip, not a lot of protection
I broke mine in by washing them two times before using them. On mine the stitched edge collar that protects the wrist rubbed and cut my arm.Pros:
They are very protective and have good grip once broken in. These are comfortable.Cons:
You have to break them in.
