Manufacturer Description

15mm diamond size - still the standard 10 diamonds across as the traditional player mesh pieces.
One solid color mesh piece.
No longer are we going to hear tales of this so-called perfect combination of hard and soft mesh. This is the mesh that even has die hard "traditional" Lacrosse players switching.
Marc Leveille has formulated a unique chemistry known as Mesh Butter. It begins as a wax base solution that is mixed, cooked, churned, and then set until a butter-like substance is formed. It is then spread from corner to corner over a top quality 6.6 nylon 100% American made mesh.
The primary reason that people choose the Marc Mesh is for its superior performance and dependability. Marc Mesh is ready to go today, tomorrow and the big game; rain or shine.
The biggest difference between Marc Mesh and the regular urethane coated "hard" mesh is this: urethane is meant to coat ropes with a thin, non-porous layer that keeps water out. It is designed not to break down. When it finally does, little cracks form in the shell defeating the urethane's original purpose of weatherproofing the mesh. Mesh Butter on the other hand quickly breaks into tiny fragments that allow the mesh to quickly form a pocket. Rather than coating the outside, Mesh Butter is applied right into the fibers of the Nylon; hence water has no place to go.
Key Features:

  • Mesh Butter has a quick break in time (1 hour or less)
  • Mesh Butter gives the mesh a unique memory that customizes the mesh to your very own signature catching and throwing style
  • Mesh Butter increases a mesh's typical lifespan
  • Mesh Butter grips the ball providing added friction giving you a capability to spin the ball when taking a rip
  • Mesh butter makes mesh 4x more resistant to water. The key is preventing bag-out.
  • Mimics a traditional pocket better than any other mesh

Awesome

Things I Liked:

It broke in super quick
The shooting strings are awsome and don't loosen up with play
It throws so nice

Things to Improve:

Cost
The sidewalls have not broken yet but they are really thick and don't fit in all heads.

Full Review:

It smells like crayons

D-ReX - USA - 11/28/2009

MM

Things I Liked:

two tone colors
a balance between soft and hard mesh
another option instead of urethane JIMALAX

Things to Improve:

smells funky
lower the price
sell it on RBK sticks
NOT MAKE IT SO DULL LOOKING

Full Review:

i think this mesh is good, it makes a nice pocket, nice hold, unlike JIMILAX mesh with urethane, this stuff HAS the coating inside the mesh so it never cracks....honestly i think its too hyped up but if you got the money buy the two color mesh but be prepared to get it looking dull....it looks like anyone can make marc mesh....use butter...urethane oil....bunch of moisturizers....candle wax.....boil it up...let it set...toss in a soft mesh peice....take it out 10 mins after u put it in and then lay it to dry..

if you want it to be dyed i guess you dye it first dip it into a dye bath take it out and wash it completely in a washing machine or by good handwashing so it wont bleed...then do the process....two tone is easy too..... dip one side half way down and do the other side let it dry wash it and butter it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mike Calabrese - Bel Air Maryland - 3/13/2010

Marc Mesh

Things I Liked:

I liked the coating on it and how the pocket doesn't form anywhere else once its broken in. It's just like hard mesh in terms of forming, but like soft mesh in the feel.

Things to Improve:

Price, definitely.

Full Review:

Best mesh I ever used, too pricey. I like Canadian Mesh too and I think I'm going to stick with that from now on, but this stuff is amazing!

Brendan - New Jersey - 6/28/2010

Marc Mesh 15mm

Things I Liked:

Great break in time, easy to work with, durable, maintains shape after break in, reliable.

Things to Improve:

None. My only criticism would be that I prefer the 20mm product over the 15. I ordered this for a friend. I use the 20mm in my own sticks.

Full Review:

I'd urge everyone who likes this product to continue to buy it. As the manufacturer sells more, he can realize better economies of scale and offer his product at a better price. Mesh is still a "cottage" industry in many respects.

Troy Hood - Manchester, MO - 9/2/2010

Amazing product - cost still a little to high

Things I Liked:

Amazing break in time Release of ball feels natural Weatherproof

Things to Improve:

Lower the price $5.

Full Review:

I liked everything but the price. Worth the buy if you're in a bind and cant break in new mesh

Jeff - Brunswick, OH - 11/2/2010

Great Mesh

Things I Liked:

Holds well in wet weather Breaks in good and fast Holds pocket and quicker shot speed

Things to Improve:

None

Full Review:

Bought two Marc meshes and both are holding up well with my game heads. My back up heads have hard mesh but not as good. The feel of the Marc mesh is much better and shot speed and accuracy is also better. Highly recommended.

Things I Liked:

nothing, except for maybe a lower price

Full Review:

best mesh i ever used, never really used to be good at stringing this stuff was so easy to use

nick - massachusetts - 2/29/2012

Marc Mesh

Things I Liked:

Throws great, forms a nice pocket, easy to break in, looks good.

Things to Improve:

It does stretch out so you're going to have to tighten things up after throwing for like 10 minutes because it will bag out and become illegal really quick

Full Review:

I love it and plan on buying some more. People worry about the price but i think its worth it. It takes a month of hard playing before hard mesh feels like this after throwing for 30 mins. Seriously you'll love this mesh if you like the feeling of hard mesh when it starts to get soft.

Brady - La Crosse - 3/6/2012

Marc Mesh

Things I Liked:

breaks in fast, wax does not flake

Things to Improve:

WAYYYY overpriced, stretches out, and NOT waterproof at all. Bags out in a second

Full Review:

none

John - Lincoln, IL - 3/27/2012

Marc Mesh

Things I Liked:

broke in super fast easy to string throws great

Things to Improve:

it stretches out so i had to tighten the bottom strings a lot

Full Review:

best mesh ive ever used. throws like hard mesh, breaks in and holds a pocket like soft mesh. worth the money

Ryan - Alexandria, Virginia - 4/9/2012

Worth every penny

Things I Liked:

I've had a piece in one of my sticks for a little less than 4 years. Aside from the initial break-in (where I had to restring 2-3 times) I have never had to restring or adjust this after that. Hold of soft mesh, feel of hard.

Things to Improve:

Nothing

Full Review:

Seriously, buy this.

Coach - Columbus, OH - 5/10/2012

From Soft Mesh to Marc Mesh

Things I Liked:

Great Product --- has the great properties of soft mesh and hard mesh

Things to Improve:

I woudl love for it to cost less

Full Review:

Finally - a product that gives you the control of soft mesh and yet the stifness of hardmesh so that shots come out smooth and hard - GREAT PRODUCT!!! we have tried everythign and this is a keeper

GB - Columbia Maryland - 6/9/2012

Marc mesh!!!

Things I Liked:

Everything. Pocket, hold, throw, shot.

Things to Improve:

Absolutely nothing

Full Review:

This is literally the best mesh i've ever used in my life. DEFINITELY worth all the money.

John Gualy - Houston, TX - 8/4/2012

Marc Mesh

Things I Liked:

Break in time is almost instant. The wax stays on and doesn't bag out like other mesh when wet. Forms a great pocket.

Things to Improve:

Price. A sale now and then would be great.

Full Review:

The best mesh on the market. Do not know one player who has tried it and didn't instantly take a liking to it.

Stu - Richmond VA - 8/11/2012

marc mesh

Things I Liked:

haven't used it for much more than a couple of catches yet, but a nice compromise between hard and soft mesh. doesn't bag out (at least not yet) like soft, yet little to no break-in time, unlike hard mesh. easy to work in and string. just a little flaking.

Things to Improve:

considering this is a secret formula waxed (butter) soft mesh, it's still just a waxed soft mesh and way over priced. was going to get east coast mesh, but they don't offer colored mesh (yet).

Full Review:

good stuff so far. we'll see how long the 'butter' holds up in adding some firmness to the soft mesh. 4 stars as very good out of the wrapper, but overpriced (even at sport stop's discount price). however, if it holds it's shape as advertised, i'd buy again.

joe - san diego, ca - 8/23/2012

MarcMesh

Things I Liked:

Median between soft and hard mesh Breaks in Fast

Things to Improve:

My piece didn't have much wax on it at all, so it isn't really wax mesh. I got much better, cheaper HOMEMADE wax mesh from a friend of mine

Full Review:

Okay, but i'd rather get something with more wax

Addison - Massachussetts - 12/12/2012

Its works

Things I Liked:

Easy to string

Things to Improve:

nothing. Would like it more if it was a little cheaper.

Full Review:

I strung my twin 7 yr olds' sticks with mark mesh and they throw and catch much better. It gives them great aim throwing. I am convinced that they play better because of it. MM has better hold than hard mesh, more durable than soft. It doesn't bag out or get whippy.

Jim - Baltimore - 1/18/2013

Marc Mesh

Things I Liked:

Very easy to break in. Strings up nice, with a great hold on the ball

Things to Improve:

Nothing, it's perfect. It's a little expensive though.

Full Review:

I love this stuff

Jon Reed - Alexandria, Va - 2/11/2013

ok

Things I Liked:

Easy stringing good hold

Things to Improve:

More waterproof less bagging out it never stops

Full Review:

Its alright not worth the money

jake - florida - 2/26/2013

Nice, but blows out after one season

Things I Liked:

Not too waxy. Consistent from piece to piece. The original wax mesh.

Things to Improve:

The mesh bags out after one season, and I need to replace the mesh with a new piece.

Full Review:

Fix the bag out problem (stretch) after one season of use.

Todd - California - 4/20/2013

Not too good

Things I Liked:

It was lighter than other "treated" meshes.

Things to Improve:

No tack Not waxy

Full Review:

It was just soft mesh. Kinda lame actually

Jon - Hampton, NH - 11/7/2013

Good Stuff

Things I Liked:

great hold. cant beat marc mesh!

Things to Improve:

little spendy, but I'll pay for it until I find something better

Full Review:

My son hates soft mesh and hard mesh is not good for face offs. This offers him a good balance, not too stiff for face offs and good all weather play
