X10 breaks

Things I Liked:

cant, scoop, width

Things to Improve:

stiffness, durability

Full Review:

a good defensive head for lower levels but breaks easily with more intense checks
warps the first day and you always have to bend it back til it breaks a week or month in

Daniel - Houston - 3/8/2010

X10 comments

Things I Liked:

The STX cant is a great design. the Head won't lean forward over time. Great for Faceoff guys.

Good head for all positions. If it breaks, you're misusing it, as there are only two heads stronger, the Bionic and the Edge.

Things to Improve:

The scoop is a bit narrow, so you have to be deliberate when scooping

Johns Hopkins defense uses this because its the best and they can afford to get a new one every two weeks. great head for a short time but if you need it to last all season go for the edge

Daniel - Houston, TX - 1/14/2011

X10 Review

Things I Liked:

i like the siffnees when you hit someones stick because it doesnt really bend and provides you with a really solid check. Also poke checks with this head are amazing because the head doesnt push in when you hit the player with it. another thing is it can give you a great pocket.

Things to Improve:

it could be a little bit more pinched because i feel that the ball comes out quite easily when stick checked.

Full Review:

over all a great defensive head if you dont like to run the ball up field it strong durable and doesnt break like the wizard or any other really stiff head

ryan - Pittsburgh PA - 3/21/2011

Nice

Things I Liked:

Stiff Easy to string

Things to Improve:

A little hard to pick up ground balls, but not something you can't overcome

Full Review:

Excellent. I have had no problems so far.

STX X10

Things I Liked:

Durability, Stiffness, Shape, catching, throws, and the checks hurt, bad. It is super stiff, I mean super stiff.

Things to Improve:

Nothing comes to mind

Full Review:

This is a great head for defense, definitely a good buy for people who want less of a pinch than warrior.

Nate Owen - Standpoint, ID - 6/23/2011

It's... Well...

Things I Liked:

Stiff(for a game or two), Very easy to catch, Looks good

Things to Improve:

Durability, Warps Easily, The scoop

Full Review:

It was a decent head but it didnt last very long! It warped after throwing a few hard pokes in my second game and after that grounballs became IMPOSSIBLE, they would bounce right off of the scoop. If you can replace heads often then this head is very food, but its not going to last long.

CDA - Minneapolis - 7/3/2011

GREAT;)

Things I Liked:

Stiff, wide, good stringing holes, great scoop, great stick checks without warping,

Things to Improve:

nothing only snobby people would want to improve this head, *seth* cough cough. no seriously...

ababa - dd - 9/30/2011

Waste of money. DO NOT BUY

Things I Liked:

Stiffness for the first 2 weeks. Decent amount of stringing holes. Good Scoop.

Things to Improve:

DURABILITY. Breaks in the same spot every time after about a month of use. It loses its stiffness after 3 weeks of play. Warps very easily.

Full Review:

Overall, I am very disappointed with this head. I have had 3 and all of them have broken in the same spot after about a month of use. This head is great for the first 2-3 weeks of use, but it quickly loses its stiffness once it breaks in, and warps very easily, then it breaks. The only people I would recommend this to are players whose teams are sponsored by STX, because they can get a replacement whenever they want.

Ostritch - In your bed - 10/4/2011

Good

Things I Liked:

wide head, great for defense especially poke checks.Good for sringing because all the stringing holes

Things to Improve:

stiffness does not last at all, my revo 2.0 is way stiffer and i'v had it for 2 years and the x10 for olney half a year and it is not stiff at all

Full Review:

good head for d

john - california - 2/11/2012

x10

Things I Liked:

super stiff for a while, strong, hurtful

Things to Improve:

somebody - somewhere - 5/30/2012

X10

Things I Liked:

Strength, Sidewall Design, Scoop, Stringing Holes

Things to Improve:

Not much.

Full Review:

One tank of a head. Closest I can get to a hammer top on my shaft. The holes are large enough for my triangle tops without using too many sidewalls holes. The scoop and stiffness really help for those rushed groundballs. It holds up well and I highly recommend it.

Q - Seattle, WA - 7/20/2012

Great

Things I Liked:

Great face, nice and wide so its also very good for attack, very good weight for shooting, very stiff, good for a bag pocket

Things to Improve:

Maybe make a slightly lighter version for attackmen who use its wide face for easy catching in traffic

Full Review:

Great for attack, and good for D too i gues haha

Dyl - CT - 7/23/2012

X10

Things I Liked:

looks great in white, super stiff, good scoop, super easy to string.

Things to Improve:

Sometimes when i catch where the ballstop is, i think i can hear a crack, but there is no crack. shold have ACP like the surgeon so i could use it in the summer. Also, the inside sidewalls scuff easily, but i don't really care about that.

Full Review:

Great head, had it for about a month, and it is easy and fun to play with at a high school level. P.S, looks better in white. 4.5 stars

Ryan DiCarlo - Simbury CT - 9/26/2012

Not good for defense.

Things I Liked:

It was pretty light, and looked pretty good. I thought it was relatively easy to string and it was actually pretty stiff for a month.

Things to Improve:

Not nearly stiff enough for defense. I throw a lot of pokes, and in one game in the fall, I poke checked a kid in the chest and he fell backwards, and my head completely bent sideways. It's been warped ever since.

Full Review:

Other people might thing it's stiff because they don't use the poke check that much, but for those that do, I wouldn't get this.

Dan - Downingtown, PA - 11/20/2012

Good, not amazing.

Things I Liked:

Stiff, until broken in.

Things to Improve:

Needs to stay stiff.

Full Review:

Great head for a beginner, I used it first season, when I got used to throwing hard checks and playing select it weakened and when covering up a groundball it warped.

Brendan - Heath, TX - 1/22/2013

Brendan - Heath, TX - 1/22/2013

Classic rebirth

Things I Liked:

Offset

Things to Improve:

Stronger scoop

Full Review:

After a long time original xcalibur player from the '90's, I was impressed at the playing charicteristics to the Brine Edge. Great strength for Attackmen, and the added weight converts to more accurate shots.

Jason - Cincinnati, Oh - 3/17/2013

Faceoff head?

Things I Liked:

Initial stiffnes, Does not break, Looks, and Offset

Things to Improve:

Does not stay Flexible!!! Used this for 1 season and now as an LSM and I actually sold it to a FOGO It became so flexible. It had also become very warped from poke checks and the face shape completely widened out.

Full Review:

This head was very flawed but still a very good head anyways.
