Gait Intrepid Box Lacrosse Arm Guards

Things I Liked:

Extremely protective, price. Mobility is pretty good for this much protection.

Things to Improve:

Pads don't indicate what is top/bottom nor right/left. Inner bicep pad seems unnecessary and when your arm is bent (which is almost always), the inner bicep pad and the inner forearm pad pinch your arm. Anti-slip? No not really.

Full Review:

Without a doubt these are the most protective arm pads I've ever owned. For box/indoor lacrosse, I won't wear anything less than this. The wind-up tomahawk hacks don't penetrate this padding. However, the upper and lower inner pads pinch at the forearm which is pretty uncomfortable. There's very little venting for breathability, so they're pretty hot - however, that's something you just have to deal with when you want/need that much protection I guess. The whole idea of these not slipping is kind of a joke...the only way to really keep them from not slipping is to pull the straps quite tight, thus cutting circulation. Fortunately the pads wrap enough of the arm and the elbow cup covers so much that they still protect quite a bit of the arm even when they slip. Some indication of which way is up/down and which one is the right/left would be nice.

These were my choice after comming back to Box Lacrosse after a long retirement. My previous pads were Brine Rebel "fibers" These arm guards provide the flexibility of a field style pad with Box inpact protection. The slot at the top is to lock them in place with the GAIT Intrepid Shoulder pad that has since been replaced with the ICON series, not sure if the ICON has the loop to hold the arm in posistion. The Canadian version of the Shoulder Intepid/Icon has a dedicated bicep pad but may not have the strap funny as theese arms would be more suited to BOX
