used to be good

Things to Improve:

needs more sidewall hole, more flexible, more pinched

Full Review:

used to be the best head on the market, than STX made it awful by making the sidewalls wider to make the head more stiff, the head was perfect the way it was, STX made a huge mistake by changing it at all

Brayden - utah - 4/12/2012

Proton is alright

Things I Liked:

Like the design of the head. Stx did a good job in '06 on this head. Goes well with a katana

Things to Improve:

Stiffness and warp stringing holes also

Full Review:

Im getting this head strung soon so I hope it is good but I've used it before and it's not great for midfield cause it is TERRIBLE for ground balls. Overall it's pretty overrated I like the clutch and noz better

Andrew - MD - 4/14/2012

Fantastic Head

Things I Liked:

Incredible Hold and in my opinion durability, I am a starting Varsity Attackman/Midfeilder and this head is perfect for everything those duties entail. (GBs, Shooting, Passing, some checking, being checked, and carrying the ball)

Things to Improve:

Make the stringing holes slightly larger/ more numerous.

Full Review:

I have used this head for 4 full years, restrung it dozens of times and never had a problem with it. Definitely strongly consider this head if you are looking for quality

Ryan - Chicago - 7/19/2012

Great head

Things I Liked:

Very accurate, good hold, great weight, perfect flexibility.

Things to Improve:

More stringing options would be nice. You need to know how to string creatively and well to get the perfect pocket. If you are someone who want a mid to low pocket then maybe you should think of going with a different head, this head is max utilized with a super high pocket (just how I like!)

Full Review:

For all those review that say the strength/flexibility needs to be fixed it doesn't. This is a head geared for attack and face offs. It is in no way a defensive head so if you are a defensive middy or a defenseman than you should go with a head designed for your position.

Nova - Southern California - 10/23/2012

Full Review:

remington dillon - romeo mi - 6/26/2013

great while it is unwarped

Things I Liked:

loved the light, narrow head, great for accurate passing/shooting, craddles good also. like to give 2.5 stars

Things to Improve:

been through 3 of them, each one warps in 6 months, by 7 and 9yr olds, and not because of abuse. maybe if never face off it would stay in original shape.

STX Proton Power

Things I Liked:

My 9 year old likes the strength of the head for defense, his shot is noticeable faster than with his brine gospel.

Things to Improve:

Factory stringing gave a lot of whip, restrung the head with med. high pocket replaced the V with a U.
