good for a beginner

by
I had this stick for 5 years, and it was the first one I ever strung. +1 star for sentimental reasons. (for some odd reason, you grow to be attached to this faster than other sticks...)
Pros:
-Shape is awesome for beginners.
-Takes to dye really well
-Mine became super flexible, and that was soooooo cool (I could use it for faceoffs)
-Doesn't really get dirty
-Can make an ok pocket
-Nice for clears-with the right pocket
Cons:
-So fricking heavy (doesn't help that I used a wooden shaft)
-About 3 total string holes
-I had to drill holes in mine to get a decent pocket
-No way to use the 6 holes that are in the throat of the shaft
-Gets flexible way to quick. (less than a month in 75 degree weather)
-Terrible for clearing overhand (I mentioned that it was good for clearing, but I've always thrown sidearm, so if you go sidearm, it's actually pretty nice)

It's OK

The weight on this is bad, it's very heavy. You get used to it, but it makes clearing a bit difficult. This is a good head for beginners, but after about 4-5 years with this head I'm getting ready to upgrade.
Pros:
Umm......well....... the shape is good. I get a lot of saves with it. The top of the stick is good, nice for raking and scooping and flicking the ball. It's also really sturdy, I've had this head for about 4-5 years.
Cons:
Weight, sidewall, stringing holes (can't get a very good pocket with it).

Head of choice

by - verified purchaser From MA
I'd buy another Goalmaster head and custom string it/dye it, it's a sturdy piece and I'm used making saves with its shape.
Pros:
I beat the crap out of this head on a regular basis and it's held up really well for 3 and a half years. I like the shape, and mine has been extremely faithful to me thoughout my career.
Cons:
I don't like the shaft, and quite quickly replaced it with an STX Throttle. I really dislike the new stock stringing too...

TERRIBLE

good for playing with in back yard. ok if you are not willing to get a really good goalie head (like the STX Eclipse).
Pros:
its cheap at dicks sport goods.
Cons:
THE POCKET!!! its maybe 1 ball deep make it deeper. Have an open siderail the single siderail sucks. have more holes in the head at the bottom by the ballstop for easier stringing. Because I have to put two sidewalls through one hole so make more.
