good head with downsides

by From SOUTHERN WISCONSIN
Head was really stiff, but warped severely in summer ball on a poke check. Sent it in under warranty and got another head and warped too on a poke check but not as severe the second time.

The other heads my son has used with no warping are Brine Edge, Brine Triumph (still going strong after hs season and two club seasons) and STX Hammer 500 (new).
Pros:
stiffness, stringing, looks good
Cons:
scoop is too much like a shovel and not flat or rounded enough, warped when poke checking (twice), head is almost too wide (like triumph and original hammer) to carry up the field.

BEST DEFENSIVE HEAD

by From COLUMBIA
I have played with the Maverik Tank for a full year now. It is by far the best defensive head on the market. This head is crazy stiff and will last you many seasons. This stick has gone through a beating and has come out in perfect condition. 5 out of 5 to Maverik...Great Head
Pros:
Stiffness
Durability
Cons:
Nothing At All

Best D head ever!

by From JOHNS CREEK, GEORGIA
This head is a legit "Tank" when it comes to defense. I have had my tank for a really long time now and besides ball burns and scrapes, there is nothing wrong with it! This head is the best head you can get for defense. They string up so easily. When I play lacrosse (which is year round) I play tough and the tank goes through a lot of beatings... But it has NOT cracked, warped, hourglasses, etc.
Pros:
Very stiff, great for ground balls, lots of stringing holes, easy to get a pocket in, great for ANY position but mainly D and LSM.
Cons:
More colors would be good.

Mav Tank

by From BOSTON, MA
This is a good head, but to be honest, I was a little disappointed with it. It is stiff, however the face shape is so wide that it tends to flare out much quicker than some other heads, like my x10's for example.
Pros:
Stiffness, stringing holes, double screw holes
Cons:
I think they could afford to tighten up the face shape a little, I know a common problem with the hammer is the way the head flares out and this seems to be the same way.

stiff and durable

by From NY
My son plays D and has run through a bunch of different heads which inevitably get soft and/or warp over the course of a single season. This head has made it through an entire season, has maintained shape and stiffness. Great product, huge value.
Pros:
STIFF
DURABLE
Cons:
NOTHING
