The STX Eclipse Goalie Head

Things I Liked:

Very light, wide side walls for more stopping area, color choice, throws very well.

Things to Improve:

Nothing, this head is perfect and i recommend to any goalie at any level.

Full Review:

I have 12d mesh and it is perfect. I throw sick fakes and face dodges when i run out of the goal. Recommended that you use this head for any level goalies.

Best head on the market nemesis is too heavy

Dean - Virginia - 8/17/2010

nothing can be compared.

Things I Liked:

very light, a nice throat to hold the stick, durable, mostly everything about the head. Lighter than nemi much more durable than a guardian. better head than anything else.

Things to Improve:

needs more holes, it can get flexible (but only after 5 seasons with it)

Full Review:

i started playing goalie in 6th grade. i'm a junior in highschool. this is the one that you want and no other head can compare to it. ive never used a different kind of goalie head in my whole career between practices, scrimmages, games, playoffs, fall ball, indoor, and summer travel teams. i recommend the eclipse to any krazy goalie out there that wants to become great.

John - Illinois - 1/17/2011

RJ - Springfield, PA - 5/4/2012

STX Eclipse

Things I Liked:

The colors are great, fairly easy to string, great surface area.

Things to Improve:

A bit Flexible.

Full Review:

My favorite goalie head out there. Best head for your money. I have two right now.

John - Baltimore, Maryland - 6/12/2012

Eclipse is prime

Things I Liked:

Light in weight Durable (taking shots at 90+ in college) Colors are sick Lasts a Long time (i've had mine for four years and it hasnt showed any sign of weakness)

Things to Improve:

a little flexable, but it is still way worth it. needs one more stinging hole on the top, so you dont have to fold down your 12 diamond.

Full Review:

Colored heads are awesome. (i got the black one) it was my first dyed head and i like it. for some reason the dyed eclipse feels way lighter than the white one. Its easy to string and i've restrung mine like 4 times for different teams, arguably the best head on the market and is definitely usable all the way up into the college level.

OwlsLax - Massachusetts - 10/2/2012

My son loves his customized stick & head.

Things I Liked:

He likes the choice of colors and the shape. It has an average weight (not heavy, but would not describe as lightweight).

Things to Improve:

Maybe the weight.

Full Review:

Overall, he couldn't be happier with his custom stick. Wild choices for a wild sport.

Julie - Connecticut - 10/5/2012

Insane goalie head

Things I Liked:

Weight (lightest one I've played with), colours are brilliant!

Things to Improve:

If it could be even lighter that would be amazing?!

Full Review:

Been playing with this for about 4-5 years now and I remember noticing the difference immediately. You can catch the ball literally anywhere on the head (had some pretty funky off-stick-side-high saves catching it right in the top corner of the stick and it just rolls into the middle..) and it's so light compared to the others. Even if they didn't have all the amazing colours the Eclipse would be my 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice every time. It's quite hard to flick ground balls with but that's never been a hindrance in a match. It's also listed as a legal stick at every level of play for men's and women's, which saves a lot of unnecessary last-minute hassle and worry at big tournaments. (Unless it's red but I may have got that wrong.) BUY IT NOW!!!!!

Sophie - United Kingdom - 4/8/2013

Best Goalie head you can buy.

Things I Liked:

Throws great. LIGHT.

Things to Improve:

NOTHING

Full Review:

I,m a beginner goalie and was stuck with the brine money for most of my games. I couldnt clear for crap with it. I picked up the eclipse and could clear perfectly. This is a great head.

Goalie mum - rochester, ny - 4/18/2013

Great head

Things I Liked:

lightweight, durable, easy to string

Things to Improve:

Nothing

Full Review:

I love stx sticks in general but, this one is my fav. Great for goalies of all levels. It is super durable. I drove over it and it's fine!

Kate - Minnesota - 4/28/2013

Love this head

Things I Liked:

Very lightweight and extremely durable. Easy to string. When strung right you can get a deep pocket and great channel.

Things to Improve:

The Grip on the throat is kind of weird but its a very minor issue.

Full Review:

I've played goalie for 4 years and I've used this head for a long time, it hasn't broken or cracked at all, it is a great all around head. It wont bend easy and is very light. I looked into buying the STX Shield but found that it was very heavy. All though the Shield is supposedly "less flexible" the weight of the head is a bigger factor as a goalie. The Eclipse is a great head and I would recommend it to any goalie.

LaxGoalie - North Carolina - 6/9/2013

best head ive ever had

Things I Liked:

big (ridiculously big). so light. so many colors. durrable and stiff enough to to poke check and come out of the cage.

Things to Improve:

if this got lighter i would totally pay for it

Full Review:

this thing is big and suuper light. going from a zoo to this was huge. its so easy to srting too! it was a little weird doing it with 20 diamond mesh but it was still fun and easy. this thing flexs like crazy which will make good for clamping down on the ball. this thing is durable and ive only heard of someone snaping this head once.
