While the thumb has unbelievable protection it DOES effect your ability to throw. The first time I used them I threw absolutely awful. However, after one week of breaking them in and REALLY hitting the wall, my throws are better then ever.

the lining in the fingers comes out easy and the rubber grips on the fingers come off WAY to easy but thats nothing to complain about really. if you like a tight grip then u may need some tape for your shaft.

My first goalie gloves were cells and it was imposible to use the thumb so i got superfreaks and the protection wasn't that good so I got buzzkills and they are awesome

My son confirms there is a learning curve to throwing with these gloves but it can be overcome with practice. The protection and piece of mind is worth it for the parent!

It has great knuckle protection, better than the k18s. I have the version with no air vent, though I know that this version which has the air vent, will breath well. Very comfortable compared to k18s. Soft on the inside.

Things to Improve:

Thumb protection. Sadly, I am writing this review with a broken thumb. The ball hit me in the palm side of the thumb, the part where this glove almost forces vulnerability. I broke my thumb. The big thumb protection prevents my botom hand from wrapping my thumb all the way around, thus making it subject to some shots. However, the top knuckle thumb protection is the best. Try them on before you purchase. This is JV lacrosse on a 1v1.
