Description

Otter Mesh is the world's lightest weatherproof lacrosse mesh manufactured using advanced composite materials.

Otter Mesh is comprised of a military-grade, ultra lightweight composite fiber that is hydrophobic (water resistant), durable and is designed to give you a long-lasting easy to string pocket with zero break-in time. It is made from the same composite fiber materials used to make the ropes for Navy Seals.

"We could not be more excited about Otter Mesh," said Ryan Hurley, partner and National Sales Representative at Epoch Lacrosse. "It is fifty percent lighter than conventional hard, wax or soft mesh and strings a pocket that will give players complete control and confidence in all weather conditions."

Quick facts:

Otter Mesh is made of military-grade ultra lightweight composite fiber. The same material used to make the ropes for Navy Seals.

Otter Mesh has no coating or resins added to it, which makes it break in quickly and never changes in hardness/feel over its lifetime.

Otter Mesh is a semi-soft mesh that has a slightly rough surface that enhances ball retention without adding whip.

Otter Mesh is hydrophobic, meaning it will not absorb water. It may feel wet to the touch, but the water will never affect the performance of your pocket.

Otter Mesh is resistant to extreme cold (-76F) and heat (140 F). No more shrinkage (tennis racquets) or expansion (bags) due to changing weather conditions.

Consistency is king.
Manufactured using an advanced knitting process, Otter Mesh's Symmetrical Cell Structure is made up of four mesh pillars and connection points providing structural integrity for a technologically advanced pocket.

    Interesting For Sure

Very interesting mesh to say the least. Right out of the package it throws you off with how thin and light it is. Once strung it almost feels like soft mesh, but holds it shape a little better, especially in the elements. Great release, phenomenal hold for mesh.

    Epoch Otter Mesh

Although I havnt put this mesh through a season of wear and tear yet it is definitely a good piece of mesh and is up there with the top meshes around. Being that it is so soft i love it for faceoffs because it pops back easily and lets me have more control over the ball. Also since its 100% waterproof thats a plus. Overall this is a great mesh if youre interested in a softer mesh, but the price point is kind of steep in my opinion.

Long term review of Otter Mesh

My son and I have been using Otter Mesh since it came on the market-- about two years now. I have tried out all the mesh offerings-- ECM, Throne, Gonzo, Jimalax, StringKing 1 and 2s... Put quite simply, this is by far the most outstanding mesh I have used. The strength, consistency, and lightweight are unparalleled. And while the $40 price seemed quite steep when it came out, the new mesh offerings (Hero Mesh, StringKing 2s) are all moving upwards in price to around $30. You get what you pay for with Otter Mesh. My recommendation is to use StringKing sidewalls and shooters with Otter Mesh. Placed into a Rabil 2X, it''s flat out amazing. I just ordered another piece of Otter Mesh to replace my worn out piece. Yes, Otter Mesh does wear out, like all mesh pieces. Expect Otter Mesh to last no more than a year of near daily use. But that''s about the max you can expect with any mesh (accept hard mesh, which doesn''t get good until about.a year old).

    Sweet

Amazing stuff. There are a lot of good mesh products out there but this one stands out. It has amazing feel, so you know where the ball is at all times in your pocket. Super fast release for shot speed. No break in time, all weatherproof. Really good stuff and worth the price tag

You pay for what you get

This is one of those classic battles of price for quality. Yes the price is a little high, but the quality of this mesh has no competition. Living in Wisconsin our weather can be very wet in spring, yet this mesh has held up even in the worst conditions. Havent had it for very long so im not sure on how long it will last but if it lasts more then a one season this is well worth the price.
